Trials of Mana was one of the best games I played in 2020. The exception is Ys 9, which I had to drop because of too much mandatory fetchqiesting. I also enjoyed the Ys series, especially Origin and Oath in Felghana. I enjoyed both CatQuest games way more than I expected. I fell off when heat 16-20 got too easy and I didn't care to grind for a heat 32 clear. I loved the combat in Hades, but didn't care for the procedural loop. I liked D3 best in the early game, when I didn't have minmaxed affixes doing all the work, and my dodging actually meant something.
I got the easy Platinum trophy for Diablo 3 on PS4, but I fell off hard in the postgame. Are there any hack-and slash RPGS I could play, that aren't too loot-focused? I don't care for squinting at affixes while I sift through piles of items that might be trash, or going into battles that depend more on having gear that plays itself than on my reflexes and mid-battle strategy. I like beating people up, conquering tough bosses, and seeing my character get stronger over the course of the playthrough.
